I have heard of this place last year. Me and my college
batchmates have planned a getaway to this place but it did not materialize. Good
thing, I have two desperate officemates (itago na lang natin sila sa pangalang Kim
and Fidel) filled with wanderlust that took a chance with me to discover this
summer paradise at Zambales.
From Metro Manila, Zambales is a 4-hr ride. From the bus
stop at San Antonio, Zambales, you need to take a 10-min tricycle ride to
Pundaquit beach and from there, you take a 20-min boat ride to Anawangin cove.
All would have went well. EXCEPT that there are many “San
Antonio” in Luzon and unfortunately, we took the bus ride that took us to San
Antonio Nueva Ecija instead of Zambales. So we ended up sticking our buts for
another 4 hours from Nueva Ecija to Zambales. Literally wasted the whole day. HAHAHAHA
By the time we arrived at cove, we witnessed the
ever-stunning beauty of the sunset.
We were so dedicated to do it the hard way. There’s no
electricity at Anawangin island nor any signal so it was really a break from
the city and all the stress your phone has to offer. We cooked dinner using
wood (OH YEAH) and had bonfire while watching the night sky.

SPEAKING OF THE NIGHT SKYYYY OMGGG I KENOT AFFORD TO DESTROY
THE MOMENT SO NO PHOTO HERE, AND MY PHONE CANNOT CAPTURE THE EXACT BEAUTY OF
THE CONSTELLATIONS ANYWAAAAY! I JUST HAD THE BEST-EST VIEW OF THE STARS IN MY
ENTIRE LIFE LYING DOWN THE SEASHORE, WITH THE WAVES BENEATH MY FEET AND WITH
MATCHING CLASSIC LOVE SONGS OMMMMGGGGG AND IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I SAW SHINING
ALGAE ON THE SEASHORE!!!! Well, it did
not really looked like the photo below but I saw many of them being carried
along by the waves towards the seashore! YOU CANNOT MISS THIS!
Bottomline: go there. See it for yo-self!
And then we slept inside the tent (SO LOVE THE FEELS) and we
enjoyed the cozy sleep big time!
The next morning, we embarked the great climb so we can
enjoy a higher view of the awesome place.
Medyo pagod kiddo ^_^
The top view!! Whoa!
Why such beauty?!
And then we “sort of” experienced Korea at the further part
of the island.
And then we enjoyed the beach. I guarantee you that it’s one
of the cleanest beaches I’ve ever beeeen! And my eyes did not even hurt as much
as it usually does when I open them underwater. So I guess this means it’s
really clean. ;)
At the later part of the day, we went island hopping to
Capones Island. Awesome beach as well.
Vanity overload!
The Little Mermaid
And we also dropped by at Camara Island which is also a
beauty!
We are not exhausted.
Afterwhich, we went back to Pundaquit beach and
had our dinner and off we went to the busy Metro Manila. Overall, the getaway
was so refreshing! It reminded me of how beautiful our country is. One proof of
how fond I am of this place—I shall be back soon! HAHAHA :D
